Food Wars.
The food war is upon us, we have on one side the stubborn carnivores and against them the self absorbed vegans, one thing they have in common; their ego. Neither admitting the other has the freedom to their own choice, and here I am, a little independent vegetarian who has been thrown in with the vegans but discarded by them because I eat eggs and cheese. Excuse me but I was eating this way before you all converted for the sake of social media. You spent half my life mocking me for eating rabbit food and now you've gone to the ultimate extreme of my lifestyle.
I support the conversion of veganism, it's good for the environment, the way we mass slaughter our herds of defenceless livestock is sickening, but you better know what you're doing, nobody's body is prepared to suddenly cut out something you were addicted to. And don't get me started on all the weird super foods you've got to be willing to consume for you body to function normally.
AND NOBODY LIKES GREEN SMOOTHIES. Not matter how good they are for you.

I am the middle ground. I haven't ever eaten meat, okay no, I once had fish when I was one, but that didn't end well. I think I may be allergic. But that's not the point, I have never eaten meat, it started off because that was the way my Mom brought me up, then everyone started asking me why I didn't eat it.... After a few years of thinking about the question I come to the my conclusion; I could never kill an animal, therefore what gives me the right to eat it?
Could you kill a defenceless animal and not feel guilty?
What about your pet?
Nobody actually cares, eat meat if you want to, but do you know how it came to be on your plate? Don't eat any animal or bug products, but do you research first. Your food should not be a fashion statement to describe to the world what kind of person you are. We are all different and it happens that each of us respond differently to foods, a diet you puts yourself on should be designed to suit your body not to match your best friend, you're not going to wear her bra if it doesn't fit just because it looks good on her, right ?
Do you know what blood type you are? Type O need a high protein diet, so going vegan would not work in you favour, you needs meat more than the rest of us. Type A find the best results in a meat free lifestyle, so being vegetarian or vegan would work best for you. They say type B should avoid chicken but otherwise a balanced diet is optional, then we have a special AB blood type seems that vegetables and dairy would be the best diet for you.
Great news! We're all unique, so don't do something just because it's trending or because you feel guilty that you have love handles. Food is our fuel, you have to eat, so make it benefit you in the best way possible.

There are many sides to this issue, one of them being that by cutting out certain parts of your diet you stop supporting industries that don't agree with your morals, but with that you can look at the clothes you're wearing. Check the label on the back of your shirt. How many of the clothes you own are from China ? And how many of those factories use child labour and have unsafe working environments and how many of those sweat shops dump all their waste into the surrounding areas for others to deal with?
We are a society in crisis.
Yes, by going vegan you have made a stand and started creating a movement in the right direction, but why vegan? Why not just stop supporting certain producers? Most small scale local farms and butcheries will have more humane ways of getting their products to you and they will be healthier, or just keep a few chickens in your backyard, that's what I do. They're actually rather cute.
Why not make a stand in everything you do, by not supporting industries that produce in inhumane ways you help them lose their customer base and eventually what they produce is no longer desirable. That industry becomes obsolete.
I propose a society that isn't based on the destruction of everything around us.
